The tragic demise of the 20-year-old girl Anjali Singh, who got trapped under a car and was dragged to death, left the entire nation numb and shocked. Many celebrities condemned the brutal murder of the young girl and some even extended support to her bereaved family. Now, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has provided aid to Anjali’s family through his NGO Meer Foundation. As per the latest report in Etimes, the actor’s NGO has donated funds to the victim's family.

A source close to the development revealed to the portal that the Meer Foundation has donated an undisclosed amount to the family of Anjali Singh during their testing times. The insider from Delhi was quoted as saying, “Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation has donated an undisclosed amount to the family of Anjali Singh. Anjali was the sole breadwinner of the family which includes her mother and siblings. The aid by Meer Foundation aims to help the family, especially the mother with her health issues while providing relief to Anjali’s siblings.”


SRK’S NGO Meer Foundation was founded in October 2013 and is named after his father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan. Through his NGO, the actor aims to help women who are being treated unfairly by creating a network of support for them.

Talking about Anjali’s brutal murder, she was returning from a party in the wee hours of January 1 when her scooter was hit by a Maruti Baleno and she got trapped under the car. She was dragged for 10-12 kilometers from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in the national capital after which she succumbed to her injuries. Her dead body was found by police vans at around 4 AM. In the latest development in her death case, six arrests have been made so far.
